Stripes are one of the most classic patterns used for men’s clothing, but that doesn’t mean they have to be the same old thing that you wore five years ago – they are making a huge comeback at the moment, and there are a few things you can do to keep them looking fresh.

There are lots of benefits to wearing stripes – they are visually slimming, effortlessly stylish, and go well with all plain colours. They are an ideal way of jazzing up an otherwise plain outfit, and can be toned down with darker solid colours, or made the feature of your outfit.

You can find many other items of clothing in stripes – not just t-shirts. Try striped boat shoes, striped sweaters, striped boxers, striped blazers, striped shorts and striped cardigans. They don’t have to be wide stripes – pinstriped trousers are very sleek and give a smart but on-trend look, and are perfect for work. Team these up with a plain shirt and striped tie for a great effect.

Research shows that the most popular stripe combination worn by men is blue and white. Don’t settle for standard – be brave and try bolder, brighter colours – a brightly coloured tie can jazz up any work suit, or for a more casual look go for a shirt in coloured stripes. There really are no limits – dare to be different, and it is guaranteed that ladies will love your new look.

Wow, never before did I think I would be writing a blog post on the number of t-shirt design competitions, but there is a ton of them, nearly all the time!

First up we have the Threadless who are doing a design competition with the Tron: Legacy film.
Secondly we have a “Choose Schools” t-shirt design contest courtesy of Fibers.

Fibers and eSarcasm.com are also doing a “I May Be Fashion Challenged But I’m Smarter Than You” t-shirt design contest.

To be honest I could go on and on, but I won’t , there are just a ridiculous number of custom t-shirt contests out there – so if you have real talent then this might be a great way for you to get your name known across a plethora of design your own t-shirt sites.

I don’t think AdLogo are running one yet, but I imagine they will do so in the future – who knows, perhaps the larger brands such as Next and Topshop may change the way their online stores work, providing people the chance to have their own designs used in the Topshop range! Thinking about it, I might start doing my own custom polo shirts…

Often made from knitted cloth over a common woven cloth style polo shirt.

Lacoste where the first to market a tennis shirt back in 1933, before this Polo players often wore long sleeved shirts. Polo shirts are often worn in the work place due to the strength of the knitted cloth, they are commonly made into promotional work wear advertising the company you work for and can be purchased for low prices.

If you ask someone to name a producer of polo shirts there usually one common answer and that’s Fruit Of The Loom, they make high quality low cost blank polo shirts for the use of promotion, whether its for concerts and gigs or work attire.
If you want a designer polo shirt then there’s only 2 names to look for Fred Perry and Lacoste, these are often picked up on the high street or on the Internet.
